Today my brain just would not function the way I wanted it to. Luckily I didn’t have any urgent matters that needed my attention, however, I do have a list that I would like to cross off some items that are on there. Coffee didn’t work. I drank a liter of water. I attempted to take a half hour snooze. (Now the coffee and water have combined so I am accomplishing bathroom breaks every 15 minutes.)
Being at home now because I am unable to go to work (closed due to COVID-19) seemed like a great opportunity to achieve so many goals. It’s been more difficult that I thought it would be. I am grateful to be here to help my daughters finish up their few months of home based learning. I have learned to accept that there will be (many) interruptions to my day and projects. But wow, do I get upset when I have the block of time and I just can’t stay on task.
So back to today…..I decided to make a “Focus” roller with three essential oils: Vetiver, Lavender, and Cedarwood.

Vetiver has calming and grounding properties. It is distilled from the root of a scented grass native to India.
Lavender is known for its calming properties and promotes a general sense of well-being. Feeling relaxed clears the way to mental clarity. Lavender is steam distilled from its well known flowering tops.
Cedarwood eases tension and creates a calming environment. Its oil is obtained by steam distillation of the bark.
How to make a Focus roller:
Place 10 drops of Vetiver, 10 drops of Lavender, and 10 drops of Cedarwood in a 10 ml glass roller bottle. Fill the rest of the bottle with carrier oil (I used fractionated coconut oil.) Pop in the roller ball top and screw on the cap. Shake gently to disperse the oils.
Roll onto wrists, behind the ears, or onto the back of the neck.
