Stop Stinky Stompers

Our feet sweat. Our shoes then smell. The time eventually comes where an intervention is needed. Soccer cleats, running shoes, ski and snowboarding boots all can be refreshed with these muslin bags. They are easy to pop in and out of one pair of shoes to another.

These shoe inserts combine the odor absorption power of baking soda with the natural deodorizing of rosemary and citrus essential oils. They are not headache inducing plastic balls filled with synthetic fragrances! I also added in dried rosemary leaves. I had them on hand, but they aren’t necessary to complete this recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Baking Soda
  • Handful of dried Rosemary leaves (optional)
  • 30 drops Rosemary essential oil
  • 20 drops of Citrus Fresh essential oil
  • Sealable tea bags
  • Muslin bags

Directions

Measure the baking soda in a large bowl and combine with the dried rosemary if using. Add the drops of essential oils while whisking the baking soda to keep it from clumping.

Scoop with a spoon to fill the tea bags and then seal per their directions.

Place each tea bag into a muslin bag.

Pop into shoes!
