I love drying my laundry on my clothesline outside. I love sleeping on clean sheets that smell like fresh air and sunshine. A t-shirt feels that much more comfy when it’s spent a few hours drying on the line. However, living in New Hampshire only allows me to do this probably for 6 months out of the year. Attempting to fold a frozen pair of leggings is not on my to-do list!

While I can’t bottle the sunshine, I do mix up this “Fresh Linen” blend with my essential oils to keep in my laundry room. I use a few drops on wool balls and then toss them in the dryer with the wet clothes. The smell just opens up the house and removes some of the winter “stuffiness.” In a previous post, I discussed the pitfalls of store bought dryer sheets. Using wool dryer balls with essential oils provides the perfect replacement!
I use an empty 15ml bottle and fill it with the following ratio of oils and drops.
- Lavender 30 drops
- Peppermint: 30 drops
- Lemon: 30 drops
- Eucalyptus: 20 drops
- Tea Tree: 15 drops
Then I add a few drops to the balls per load. It’s great to have already mixed on my shelf!

Here is another easy way to get started with the dryer sheet “ditch and switch.” The Nepalese Wool Dryer Balls Collection contains everything you need for drying your clothes. Four wool balls come in a cotton drawstring bag along with a bottle each of Lavender and Bergamot essential oils. Infuse your clothes with this relaxing blend of oils. It’s heavenly!
