This whole post goes back to the philosophy that what we need is always found naturally. Commercial beauty products are full of so many unwanted ingredients that do not belong on our skin. Just taking the time for myself for a little pampering is always a welcome moment, but knowing that what I am using is good for me, feels even more amazing.

I suppose with the boom of the industry for beauty, with their products displayed in brightly lit aisles with flashy packaging, the simple at-home ones got forgotten about. The quick fix promise sealed with a perfect face of a supermodel always outshines the yellow box of baking soda on a pantry shelf. But nature always gives us the solutions that we need! Natural is always prettier.

Oatmeal works for oily and dry skin. It has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Oatmeal contains compounds called saponins (natural cleansers) that remove dirt and oily that clog pores. The texture of the oats exfoliates dry skin to remove dead skin cells.
Tumeric is also anti-inflammatory and an antioxidant. The dark yellow herb calms red, blotchy skin, evens out skin tone, and balances out oil.
Cinnamon stimulates blood circulation, bringing nutrients and oxygen to the surface of skin to reveal a fresh, younger appearing face. Its antibacterial component helps control breakouts.
Honey is a natural humectant providing moisture to skin. As an antimicrobial, honey helps control blemishes.

Yogurt contains lactic acid which diminishes the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines by a tightening effect. It also shrinks pores, moisturize, and removes dead skin cells.
Lemon Juice contains citric acid and Vitamin C. Its astringent qualities help with acne by decreasing inflammation and controlling oil. Citric acid breaks down dead skin cells that can cause blackheads. Vitamin C is an antioxidant that improves fine lines by preventing free radicals from damaging collagen. Lemon juice may also work well to lighten age spots and acne scars.
