We haven’t had a real tree for many years. There was too much grumpiness from someone in my house throughout the whole process of choosing a tree, loading it onto the car, setting it up straight in the stand. And then the removal back to its woodsy beginnings– so it could come full circle in the literal tree of life, –just left too many needles on the trail to its final resting place.
Welcome, oh artificial Tannenbaum! You’ve come into my home where all is calm and bright now.

Of course, I the miss the smell of a real tree. This spray of spruce, cedarwood, orange, and clove is a nice alternative! I spritz it on wreaths and garlands too. It smells very festive and helps with grounding during the chaotic holidays as well.

To a 1-ounce glass spray bottle add the following essential oils:
- 10 drops Evergreen Essence
- 5 drops Cedarwood
- 5 drops Orange
- 2 drops Clove
Then add a splash of witch hazel or vodka. This will help the oils and water mix better. Fill the remainder of the bottle with water.
