Calm Your Butt Down

Here’s a roller recipe that I use when I need to get $#@! done, but I hesitate. I know what I need to do, but I get scared to actually start.

The essential oils I chose for this roller are calming, grounding, and emotionally balancing. They can improve concentration and rid the mind of negative thoughts. Roll this on the wrists, behind the ears, along the temples, or on the sternum. Take a few deep inhales and exhales to cleanse and release as well.

I truly believe we are all here for our own purpose. We each have a light in us that needs to shine. Yet, why do we get scared to let it show? I know I do. I feel drawn in a direction, but then start to question my intentions because I think “What will others think?” Every day I must remind myself that we are “the salt of the earth,” and each one of us contributes with our own unique gift.

The lyrics from “Joyful Girl” by Ani DiFranco remind us to be a positive force in the world no matter what others think.

I do it for the joy it brings
Because I’m a joyful girl.
Because the world owes me nothing
And we owe each other the world.
I do it because it’s the least I can do.
I do it because I learned it from you
And I do it just because I want to
Because I want to.

Everything I do is judged
And they mostly get it wrong
But oh well.
‘Cause the bathroom mirror has not budged
And the woman who lives there can tell
The truth from the stuff that they say.
And, she looks me in the eye
And says “would you prefer the easy way?
No? Well, okay, then …
Don’t cry.”

I wonder if everything I do
I do instead
Of something I want to do more?
The question fills my head.
I know there’s no grand plan here
This is just the way it goes.
When everything else seems unclear
I guess at least I know
