Essential Oil Playdough

Using essential oils with kids is a wonderful way to support their growth physically and mentally.

Playdough infused with essential oils provides a tactile project that is easy to do with common products around your home. I did have to go and buy cream of tartar, but that’s a common item at any grocery store.

Kids love getting their hands into things! They can play with this dough with no worry of toxic chemicals being absorbed through their skin.

They can be the boss in choosing their essential oils to make the playdough smell oh so good. You can take it a step further by adding natural food dye to create different colors.

I did this as a class recently at my local library. I made the dough ahead of time. Then the participants kneaded in their choice of essential oils! I did skip the dye during this time because it was a public space that I didn’t want to add color to where it wasn’t needed LOL! Parents were provided materials to make a roller to take with them too.
