When I turned 40, I had a revelation that my life could be half over. My thought patterns changed. I realized it was time to stop caring about others’ opinions of me and what I was doing.
After a few years of being bolder, however, I somehow lost that mindset. I slid back into hesitating and second guessing myself. My 46th birthday this month reminded me of that stand that I took. It felt so freeing at the time! Now I’ve been wondering why I stopped. Was there a particular incident or just a gradual crawling back into my shell?

So doing the math now at 46, my life is past half over, I’m sure. I could be 92 and doing crossword puzzles in my recliner, but I certainly won’t be hiking mountains or running around on ladies’ soccer teams. I’m going to aim for the goal of still sewing my own clothes–at least some comfy pants to lounge around in!
I created this Glow Serum with mica to symbolize putting some sparkle back into my life–and not giving a hoot as to others’ perceptions of me. Cheers!

Carrot Seed essential oil has some SPF action and nourishes the skin. Royal Hawaiian Sandalwood and Vanilla essential oils are luxurious for the face.
For carrier oils, try fractionated coconut oil, rosehip oil, jojoba oil, or argan oil for this glow serum.
Mica is the name for a group of minerals that comes from sheet silicate. It can be naturally found in granite, slate, phyllite, and shale. Most mica found in cosmetics starts as natural rock that is ground into a light gray powder. Mica can also be made synthetically in a lab and is called Fluorphlogopite. Either way, dyes and pigments can be added to the fine powder. These colorants are usually lab-created to keep them clean from contaminants.

Mica powders are noted for adding a glow and dewy finish to skin after the application of the cosmetics that contain them. Most likely you have used a product containing mica as they are found in eye shadows, bronzers, shampoos, lipsticks, and many similar items.
I purchase my mica online from Mad Micas. There are so many colors to choose from! Have fun with this. While I used more of a clear mica, a brighter color may be just what you’re looking for.
I purchase my essential oils from Young Living. My carrier oils and bottles I purchase from Your Oil Tools. They have everything you need to assist you with your DIY creations.
Happy glowing!
